Hosta Tray
A broken-off hosta leaf served as the inspiration and model for this long, thin tray. The leaf was pressed into the soft clay and the shape was cut around. The edges were brought up to make a tray and three feet were added underneath. Made from red clay, the tray was dipped in white majolica glaze and then hand painted with a variety of leaf shapes and colors. Use it to make a creative offering of crudites, cheese and crackers, shrimp cocktail or whatever else you can dream up.
