Palisade Peach Tray
One of the best things about summer is the abundance of locally grown fruit. Sweet, juicy peaches, especially those from Palisade, are one of my favorites. Plump, ripe peaches decorate this bright and summery oval tray which could serve anything from appetizers to desserts, The underside of the tray showcases the red clay from which it was made.
Length: 14”
Width: 7-1/4”
Height: 3/4”
Colorado peaches are primarily grown in the area surrounding the town of Palisade. They’re known for being extra sweet and extra juicy, thanks to the long sunny days and cool summer nights which help the fruit sugars develop. But with warmer winters and earlier springs, peaches and other fruit crops are at risk. Warmer winters mean earlier blooms, and a sudden dip in temperatures after the bloom could damage or kill the fruits, drastically affecting the amount harvested for the year.
